I am deeply grateful for all that Christian Science has...
I am deeply grateful for all that Christian Science has done for me and mine, and could tell of many cases of healing in my family. My youngest child was healed of acute lung trouble. She had one attack after another from the time she was six months old, and on one occasion her life was despaired of, the doctors saying her only chance was to be taken South every winter and kept there until the warm weather. With three treatments in Christian Science she was healed and has never had any return of the disease, which is now over two years.
Christian Science has eliminated from my consciousness a great deal of fear, and has proven to me on two occasions the nothingness of the man–made law of contagion in a case of whooping-cough, which the youngest child had. This was overcome in a short time, whereas in the old thought it would probably have meant a long and severe siege. Two other young members of the family, who had never had the disease, did not take it. In a case of mumps, which I had last summer, my three children were with me constantly, but were not affected. I myself have been healed of many ailments, and on one occasion an infected foot was healed by my realization of the truth of our dear Leader's words on page 495 (lines 14 to 24) of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
For all these physical healings, and many more, I am truly grateful; but for the spiritual and mental uplift I am even more thankful. Until I took up the study of Christian Science, I had never known anything of the Bible and had no desire to, and my children were being brought up in the same way; but now I enjoy the Bible, and my children are all attending the Christian Science Sunday School. It is needless to say that they love to go. I am very grateful that I was receptive to this grand truth,—grateful to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her unselfish and loving patience in bringing this truth to humanity. My daily prayer is that the same Mind may be in me that "was also in Christ Jesus," that I may love my neighbor as myself, and that I may be found worthy to bear the name of Christian Scientist.
