Without the Bible, there would be no Christian Science

Cincinnati (Ohio) Journal and Messenger

Without the Bible, there would be no Christian Science. No one is admitted to membership in the church who does not give his full consent to this first tenet: "As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life" (Science and Health, p. 497). Christian Scientists believe implicitly in the Bible. They make it their daily companion. There is no reason why the future should ever see them abandon it. Were they to do so, they would cease to be Christian Scientists. Furthermore, the members of this church hold to the gospel as steadfastly as they do to the Old Testament Scriptures, and seek their salvation through Christ alone.
