The statement that Mrs. Eddy "can modify the faith of Christian Science, and has repeatedly done so during the past twenty years," is not supported by the experience of those who adhere to its teachings. In fact, it would be impossible for any one to modify the faith of Christian Science without first modifying the teachings of Christ Jesus, and of the Scriptures generally, on which it is based.

An examination of the tenets of The Mother Church, to which all Christian Scientists subscribe, reveals no modification of their earlier platform. They still declare our faith in the Bible, as "our sufficient guide to eternal life;" they affirm our belief in one infinite God; in his Son, one Christ, and reiterate our pledge to "watch, and pray for that Mind to be in us which was also in Christ Jesus; ... and to be merciful, just, and pure" (Science and Health, p. 497).
