I wish to add my testimony, in the hope of helping others

I wish to add my testimony, in the hope of helping others. I was a member of an orthodox church and tried hard to be a Christian, but I did not find the help and comfort which religion should bring to one hungering for righteousness. In March, 1906, after seeking relief for physical ills for several years, an aunt sent me two Christian Science Sentinels, which were eagerly read. A copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, was soon purchased, and through reading this wonderful book, stomach trouble and several other ailments disappeared. A very obstinate bowel difficulty soon vanished with a little help from a practitioner, and much fear has been destroyed. My daughter came into Science about the same time, and we are both striving to understand more of this truth that makes free.

While the physical help is wonderful, it cannot be compared with the spiritual uplifting, the comfort and peace which come through the study of our text-book and our other literature. I wish to add that when the Lesson-Sermons seem difficult to understand, the words in Matthew 7 : 7, 8 bring the light to my darkened sense. There would not be room to tell of the many demonstrations of the power of Truth, but my daily prayer is to live near to God and to show others the way. Words cannot express my love and gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for Science and Health. I am very thankful to be a member of The Mother Church and for the help it is in our journey from sense to Soul. I am striving to be worthy to be known as a Christian Scientist.

Mrs. Gertrude Quiner, Manderson, Wyo.
