It is with a feeling of deepest gratitude for the help which I have received through Christian Science that I would tell about my healing. Two years ago I suffered terribly with headaches. As they became unbearable, I finally consulted a physician of high repute in Charlottenburg, who declared that growths in the nose were the cause of the malady, and that he could but urge me to submit immediately to an operation. As I was suffering greatly, I submitted to a most serious operation, after which I stayed for three weeks and a half at the private clinique of the physician in question. During that time I suffered dreadfully, as the dressing had to be done twice a day. After I was dismissed I remained under constant treatment for two years, without any prospect of getting better. There was an open wound in the jaw, and further surgical treatment was given frequently, this being extremely painful, as it was done without an anesthetic.

After I had undergone thirteen such treatments, I heard of Christian Science, but could not make up my mind to seek help in it. I did, however, attend a Wednesday evening meeting, and the impression which I got was such a favorable one that I immediately asked for treatment. I at once removed an appliance which the surgeon had deemed necessary, something I never would have dared to do otherwise, but after the third treatment the wound began to close gradually. After the sixth or seventh treatment it closed completely, and has not caused me pain again. I am now a healthy girl of twenty-two, and cannot say how grateful I am to God, and also to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has brought us this great Science.
