For thirty years I was a great sufferer from chronic rheumatism. I could hardly walk and the pain was most excruciating. I believe I have tried almost every well-known remedy, including a course of baths at a celebrated hydropathic resort. This relieved me for a short time, but I was soon as ill as ever. In August, 1907, I witnessed the most wonderful healing of my dear grandchild through Christian Science, and I thought that what God could do for this little one He could do for me; so I sent for a Christian Science practitioner and had a wonderfully helpful talk, and finally decided to take treatment. In six weeks I was healed. I am over seventy years of age and have recently been able to nurse a sick friend through a very severe illness. I feel most grateful for this wondrous freedom from bondage, and for the new light and true understanding of the Bible, so beautifully explained by Mrs. Eddy.

Do we realize the opportunity, the blessed privilege given to us when the pages of our priceless periodicals are open for our benefit, that we may give as well as receive? With great joy and thanksgiving I wish to relate some of the many blessings that have been mine since this religion of Love, named by Mrs. Eddy Christian Science, came into my life. It appealed to me as practical as well as beautiful, therefore a necessity; so I listened to all I heard said of it, and read also. Not until a year had passed did I call for help, when a disease, which had seemed a part of me through a number of years but which had been silent for some time, loudly screamed for recognition. This was a distressing bowel trouble and supposed to be hereditary. I was healed of it in three treatments through the understanding of a dear Scientist. This was in 1898, and since that time many proofs of God's loving and protecting care have been mine.
