I joyfully bear witness to the healing power of Christian Science

I joyfully bear witness to the healing power of Christian Science. From my earliest recollection I never knew what it was to be free from some ill, and it does seem as if I must have had all that flesh is heir to. I was supposed to have inherited lung trouble, also another ailment which manifested itself in an eruption. I suffered untold agony for many years, the eruption at times appearing all over the body. The lung disease was manifested in many forms, and finally, after years of suffering and medical treatment, a council of doctors pronounced it tuberculosis, and said that no more could be done for me. I did, however, get relief through change of climate.

Then I met with an accident, and had an arm severely hurt, besides sustaining injuries which kept me in a hospital most of the time for over two years. I underwent two operations with only partial relief, and my arm gradually became useless. The physicians were advising a more critical operation; but just at this point some of my friends were so anxious to have me try Christian Science treatment that I reluctantly consented. I was discouraged, and felt that death was my only hope of relief; yet in a way I was willing to try anything which offered release from pain. I applied to a Christian Science practitioner, and received relief at once. At the time it seemed to me that my healing was very slow, yet in six months I was perfectly healed of all these discordant conditions, also of many other ailments which I have not mentioned.

This healing was in 1904, and I have rejoiced in good health ever since. My one aim is to live Christian Science, not in words only but in deeds; to love God supremely, and to be loyal to our dear Leader.
