In October, 1908, I was watching my football team, when the ball suddenly flew out of bounds and both teams rushed after it. I dodged one boy, but several others coming up together struck me in such a way as to push my feet from under me. My first thought was that I would not be able to rise, but I denied the wrong thought, sprang to my feet, and walked and ran about freely the remainder of the day.

When I arrived home in the evening I told my wife of the accident, and thought no more of it until, on attempting to rise, I found that my knee was becoming stiff and also very painful. My wife wanted me to telephone to a Christian Science practitioner, but I told her that we ought to be able to overcome the trouble ourselves. The pain, however, increased till it seemed almost unbearable and I could not move my leg, even while lying down, much less could I stand. Finally I consented to let my wife telephone the practitioner, and in a few minutes I walked out to supper by holding on to some supports. Within an hour all pain had ceased, and I could not only walk without difficulty, but could even raise myself on that foot. After that, not even the closest observer could notice any evidence of lameness. There were several who had seen me when I was in such great distress and who watched the change as I got better, and they marveled greatly at the demonstration.

We have been students of Science and Health for about eleven years, and feel very grateful for the many proofs of divine Love which we have experienced. We cannot express enough gratitude to Mrs. Eddy.
