Among other occasions for thanksgiving at this time we have a volume of poems by our revered Leader, which is well worthy of St. Paul's designation, "spiritual songs." In the very nature of things, prophecy and poetry are inseparable, and when one who has a great message for the age adds to the vision of the seer the voice of the poet, we may well listen that we may catch this message and learn the inner meaning of the things around us, until, as Mrs. Browning says, we shall begin to feel
