We all understand the ideal man in proportion as we gain...
Boston Times
We all understand the ideal man in proportion as we gain a true knowledge of God, of whom he is image. Christian Science, affording a clear spiritual and demonstrable understanding of God, greatly aids mortals in the task of becoming Godlike. By teaching what God is this Science informs us what we have to do to be like Him. Practising our knowledge of God's likeness necessitates putting "off the old man with his deeds," and as we continue to put off evil we are enabled to perceive more of God's image and are thus furnished continued employment in the line of working out our salvation.
It should be observed from the foregoing suggestion that "practice makes perfect." It avails not to learn the way unless one advances accordingly.
It is evident that when Christian Science is universally practised—when all men busy themselves trying to be God like—sin will rapidly disappear, and the kingdom of God will be rapidly established on earth. Men will then love as God loves, the universal brotherhood of mankind will be in actual existence, and the commandment, "Love thy neighbor as thyself," will dominate the lives of all men.
