Several months ago, while living in Arizona, I had a severe attack of acute indigestion and gastritis. I tried to help myself through my understanding of the truth, but was overcome by fear, and the demonstration was not made. At times the suffering which I endured seemed more than I could bear. I was ill for nearly a week — could neither sleep nor eat. One day my husband came home and said that as there were no Christian Science practitioners where we lived, he had spoken to a physician, telling him how I was suffering, and was told that it was a very dangerous case. My husband asked me to prepare for the coming of the physician. I then felt that the time had come for me to take my stand; I was, or I was not, a Christian Scientist. I asked my husband to send a telegram to my teacher in Denver, Colorado, for help, which he did with many doubts and misgivings. The message was sent at 1.30 P.M., and during the afternoon I fell into a quiet, restful sleep. I awoke at half past four and found myself healed, and had no return of the pain or distress. Only those who have suffered in like manner can appreciate how grateful I am to God, and to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for showing us how to make His truth practical in our daily lives. — Margaret A. Corser, Denver, Col.
