I feel that I must not longer withhold an expression of gratitude for the ministry of Christian Science. About three years ago I was afflicted with a return of an ailment with which I had suffered for about twelve years, and which the most conscientious efforts of several physicians, during that time, had failed to relieve permanently. I was advised, as a last resort, to undergo a severe surgical operation. Filled with fear and anxiety as to the result of the operation. I turned to Christian Science for help, although in my ignorance of what it was I had said many unkind things against it. From the first treatment I was benefited, but it was some time — about six weeks — before the treatments were discontinued. I was like a child learning to take its first steps. I feared to walk alone without personal aid from my practitioner.

A deep sense of gratitude to our dear Leader fills my heart, — gratitude for her consecrated life, which enabled her to discern this Christ-truth, and for her loving self-denial in breaking this bread and giving it to us.
