Over eleven years ago I was healed, through Christian Science, of spinal trouble, astigmatism, and and other ailments from which I had suffered many years. Doctors gave me no encouragement, saying nothing more could be done, only to try to keep up my strength by the best tonics. I was unable to keep house, and was boarding at that time, and the only outlook was the grave. My suffering seemed unbearable. I had been told of Christian Science, but was afraid of it, thinking it was only some new ism which would draw me away from God. How little I knew that through its teachings I would find God, — the only Physician. I finally yielded to the persuasion of my landlady and called a Scientist to talk on the subject, and during the talk I was greatly helped. I found that Christian Science is the teaching of Christ Jesus. I soon began to take treatment and in a few weeks was strong and well. I was able to do all my work, and to walk miles if necessary. Since that time we have never used one drop of medicine in our family. We find the truth sufficient for all our needs. Pneumonia, mumps, grip, rheumatism, and many other troubles have appeared, only to fall before the truth.

I cannot tell half that has been done in our home, and how we have been able to help others. One demonstration which occurred last fall I will mention. The gas had been escaping into the oven of a gas range through a loose valve, and not being aware of it, I lighted the oven burners and opened the door. Instantly a sheet of flame burst forth with a loud noise, and my clothing caught fire. I did not then notice that I was burned so badly, but instantly realized God's care and protection. After a moment I found that my face and neck were burned, the eyebrows were burned off, and the hair from the front and sides of my head. This happened about noon, but by three o'clock there were no traces of it left, except the burnt hair. The inflammation and swelling had all gone, and callers who came in did not notice anything.

"Who is so great a God as our God?" I feel grateful to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy. The Bible and Science and Health grow clearer and dearer each day.
