A Sure Defence

Error in any guise may try to frighten, but it can never make us offenders unless the thing suggested find some response in us. Christian Science shows us how to defend ourselves against all "the wiles of the devil" —evil. Our beloved Leader assures us that ''Good thoughts are an impervious armor; clad therewith you are completely shielded from the attacks of error of every sort" (The Christian Science Journal, .March, 1899), and the 91st Psalm goes hand in hand with this superb utterance. Jesus, our blessed Master, said, "The prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me."

The suggestions and allurements of this world lose their hold upon the consciousness which begins to apprehend the truth as taught by Christian Science. Christ, Truth, comes to the temple of our thought and casts out "whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie." Then is our thought renewed after the image of Him that made all good, and becomes a fit dwelling-place for Spirit, —God.
