The fact is interesting that The Christian Science Monitor is being used in some German schools as a model for teaching English to German scholars. The Mother Church has received a request from Germany for the gift of three hundred copies of the Monitor to be sent each month to the schools of one large city there, which evidently appreciates what is best in the field of journalism.

The Literature Distribution Committee of The Mother Church, which regularly handles many noncurrent copies of the Monitor, was called upon for its excess stock to go to Germany, but could only partially fill the order; so that near-by church Distribution Committees may send to 206 Massachusetts Avenue whatever surplus copies they may have for this purpose. Noncurrent issues are acceptable, though they should not be over three months old.

The pocket edition of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy is made up of materials which come from many parts of the globe. The leather for the morocco cover comes from India, the paper is made in England, the esparto grass used in making fine Bible papers comes from Spain and Africa, the silk for the ribbon marker comes from Japan, the silk headbands at the top and bottom of the book are made in France, the gold leaf on cover and edges is an American product, and the red powder used in preparing the paper edges for the gold is found only in Armenia. The book is the product of twenty-three different trades.
