Innocency
The Bible teaches that God is "of purer eyes than to behold evil." It remained, however, for Christian Science to make it clear to humanity that God, good, does not know sin, sickness, or death; and that man, made in God's image, His exact reflection, is equally unconscious of them.
The saving truth, revealed in Christian Science, lies in the teaching that spiritual man is real; that the false, material concept of man is consequently unreal, and that this is to be demonstrated now. Because of the spiritual unity which exists between God and man, the spiritual selfhood of each one of us is present to be discerned and proved to be the only selfhood. It is well, therefore, to dwell on the complete innocence, the spotless purity, of man's true selfhood.
Innocence is not ignorance: it is true knowledge; therefore it is clothed in light. Innocence is that which is altogether unconscious of sin or of the supposed existence of evil. For that reason it cannot help being glad and light of heart. To innocence there is nothing to fear, nothing of which to be suspicious.
