Brighton, England (First Church).—John Sidney Braithwaite, lecturer; introduced by Edward Castellain, who said in part:—

When in the year 1866 her purity of thought and love for humanity enabled that noble woman, Mary Baker Eddy, to discover the long hidden meanings of the Master's teachings and to explain for us that Christ-teaching which brought healing and salvation to the world nineteen centuries ago, she named her discovery Christian Science; and very rightly so, for it constitutes the scientific and therefore the absolute or true explanation of Christianity. Since then Christian Science has spread to every quarter of the globe, and many hundreds of thousands of its students have proved for themselves that Christian Science is the truth which makes man free from sin and disease. The very essence of Christian Science is its doctrine of Love.
