Promises Fulfilled

In the book of Psalms we read: "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases." The writer was very much impressed as well as sustained by these words while laboring under a sense of depression and sickness which did not yield readily to treatment.

As I was living in a hotel apartment in the city and unable to get out into the busy street, there was a longing within for the freedom of the outdoors, and a desire to live where I might enjoy the green grass, the trees and flowers,—the things I loved so much. In due time divine Love opened the way and led me to a place beautiful as to environment and association. With harmonious surroundings and the loving help of a Christian Science practitioner, together with my own study and application of the truth of being as taught in Science and Health, I soon gained strength and courage to add to my daily duties the joy of caring for the lawn and flower garden.

One morning when the sun seemed to shine more brightly than usual, I was watering the garden and drinking in the sparkling beauty of it all, when a rainbow with all its gorgeous coloring presented itself before me. Immediately my thought turned to the signification or symbolism of the rainbow as spoken of in the Scriptures—the bow which typifies an unending covenant between God and man. While pondering over this promise, there came to my receptive thought another promise given to God's children, the passage from the psalm already referred to. I then and there realized that if one of God's promises is true all of them are, and that in due time His promise would be fulfilled to my struggling, waiting sense.
