While at home in Chicago on my Christmas vacation (1909) I was instantly healed of a severe pain in my head and stomach and a general feeling of illness. Two friends from out of town were visiting me, and though I had not been well all day and had felt wretched all the afternoon, I had been able to conceal it until early in the evening, when I was obliged to excuse myself and retire to my room. A member of my family who was leaving the house came in and gave me a Christian Science treatment, remaining about ten minutes. My next consciousness after her leaving the room was that I was perfectly well. I arose and returned to my friends, feeling absolutely no trace of sickness, and spent a pleasant evening.
