Christian Scientists are fully awake to sin in all its phases, and they are taught by their text-books, the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, to be alert to all that deceiveth or maketh a lie. They have learned neither to fear nor love sin, and are therefore becoming victors over it. Christian Science teaches that evil is no part of God. More strictly speaking, it declares God to be infinite good, divine Mind, the only power. Sin is therefore without life, being, or intelligence—in other words, non-existent. However, mortals cannot overlook "the lie," as Jesus defined evil, but must overcome it. This overcoming is through Christ and Christian Science, which when followed will bring to pass the vision of St. John,—when "the former things" shall have passed away and shall no more come into mind.
