I can say with the psalmist, "I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation;" and it is with a desire to help others that I write these lines. From 1902 to 1907 I was a great sufferer from a complication of diseases, imposed on me by mortal belief, though six different physicians tried their skill, but with only temporary benefit. Some advised one remedy, some another, then a surgical operation was recommended as the only hope, but they said that I was not likely to live over three years, as they were practically agreed that the disease was a malignant growth; so at last I returned home to die, as I could see no hope anywhere, for vain was the help of man.

Just at this time a book was sent to me by a dear friend who had long tried to interest me in Christian Science. It was "Rudimental Divine Science" by Mrs. Eddy, and I only glanced it over and then threw it aside; but the next day, as my husband was helping me into the front room, I sank down to rest and picked up the book, and what I read there gave me hope. I asked my husband to get me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and he said he surely would. The following Sunday night he brought the book to me, and I read a little in it, then pondered on what I had read as I lay on my bed. The next day at noon I was dressed and placed in the armchair where I had spent so many hours in hopelessness and pain. I called for Science and Health, and then I told my maid she might go home that afternoon, so I was left all alone. It was about one o'clock when I began to read, and from the first I saw God as Life in every line. I became lost as to time or place, but when I at last came back to my surroundings, I found I had sat there nearly four hours, and to me the room seemed filled with the glory of God. I could only say, "Our Father which art in heaven;" and then I heard the Master's sweet words, "Ye believe in God; believe also in me," and like Thomas I cried, "My Lord and my God," for I knew the ever-present Christ. I sat there, too happy for utterance for a while, then I rose from that chair perfectly healed, mind and body.

I cannot voice the unspeakable joy and peace that fills my heart as I go about the Master's business, but the way grows ever brighter, and I can hear the voice of Truth saying to every one who is sick or in trouble, "Come ye to the waters of life and drink and live." May God abundantly bless those who were instrumental in causing me to accept this great truth. I praise God for revealing to our beloved Leader the way, and we all will spend eternity loving and praising Christ Jesus for showing us the way back to our Father's house.—Mrs. F. R. Mason, Des Moines, Wash.
