About five months ago Christian Science found me in a very bad condition. I had suffered for twenty years with a stomach and bowel disorder in its worst form, accompanied by severe pains in the back, and headache about once a week. For the past two years I had generally eaten but one meal a day, for if I ate more I suffered in consequence, although great care was taken as to the kind of food I ate. I had been freated by many physicians and had taken all kinds of medicine, but no one could or did relieve me—I steadily grew worse.

About seven years ago I quit all medicine except a cough remedy which I took at different times. I came to Austin on a business trip, and was led to ask for treatment in Christian Science. After the first treatment I commenced to eat two meals a day and at the end of a week I was eating three. I ate anything I wanted without distress, and have continued to do so. I can truthfully say that I was healed in three treatments, but I continued to take treatment for about three weeks. I do know that the method as taught by Mrs. Eddy will cure disease, and I cannot find words to express my thankfulness for what I have received in Christian Science. It is my daily study, and my daily prayer is that I may so live the truth as taught in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" that I shall be able to do the healing work commanded by Christ Jesus.
