Christian Science has done so much for me that I desire...

Christian Science has done so much for me that I desire to acknowledge publicly my gratitude for it all. In the spring of 1904 a copy of The Christian Science Journal was handed to me by a friend, who told me that it might help me. At the time I was greatly disturbed mentally, for I wanted to find God, but could not. Although I was a member of an orthodox church, I was not satisfied, for I had gone from one church to another trying to find Him.

As soon as I had read the Journal the thought came to me that this must be what I wanted, so I sent twice to the reading-room to buy some literature. Then the librarian arranged with a practitioner to meet me one afternoon. This kindly interest was a surprise to me, and after the practitioner talked to me so lovingly about God, I was convinced that this was the truth for which I had searched so long. While reading that wondrous text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mrs. Eddy, I was healed of a severe form of catarrh. Next I was able to lay aside glasses, after having worn them for thirteen years; but after laying them aside, fear crept in, and I began to use them for reading and sewing. During the summer of 1909 a faithful practitioner helped me, and since then I do all my work without them. I have been able to help myself and others through my understanding of Truth, but the spiritual uplift has been more to me than all else. My heart is so full of gratitude to our Father-Mother God, and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, that I am striving each day to reflect more of Truth and Love. The Sentinel and the Journal are both very helpful to me, and I am continually receiving valuable instruction from each.—Mrs. Hattie C. Dawson, Texarkana, Texas.
