It is with a thankful heart that I tell of the many blessings which have come to me through Christian Science. I was told with much patience and love of this beautiful religion, but at that time I felt too weak to read Science and Health by myself. I had suffered for twenty years from extreme weakness of the heart, which seemingly undermined my whole constitution, especially during the last years. It also began to oppress me mentally to a marked degree. I suffered continually with the heart trouble and had to take many different kinds of medicine, but with no result; everything I tried was in vain. In the last part of 1908 I was told by a specialist and a doctor that I was too weak to walk more than five minutes at a time, so I was obliged to sit the whole day long in my chair. Often I felt so ill that I had to keep my bed. We are told that "man's extremity is God's opportunity," and these words were again proved true. While in this serious state of health, a niece told me about the healing work done in Christian Science; I decided to try it, and began to take treatment the same week. After two weeks I began to feel a change, I could walk for longer distances, felt less tired, and my heart got stronger. I could go myself to see the practitioner, who lived in another town, and even this did not tire me much.

The improvement continued, and I became strong enough to study "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, desiring to get a clearer understanding of God as Spirit and the only power. After three months I felt so well that I no longer needed treatment. Two attacks of influenza, an illness from which I used to suffer very much, were overcome in a few days, although under medical treatment these attacks lasted several weeks and left me very weak afterward. Every one who sees me now as a happy and healthy woman (after having known me as an invalid for so many years), asks me the reason; and it is a great privilege to me to tell them of my healing by the power of Truth alone.

For all these blessings of physical and spiritual healing, I give all glory to God, who again proved to be the healer of all our diseases; and thankfulness to our dear Leader, who gave back to mankind the pure religion as taught by Christ Jesus.
