HEALTH PERMANENT

Without explaining the meaning of the word health, materia medica has a great deal to say about how to keep well. It looks upon health as a condition of matter which is subject to change without notice from so-called natural causes. Not knowing the scientific explanation of health, the human mind has invented a thousand and one theories all opinions which are supposed to affect it.

Today, as never before, these theories and opinions are not only multiplying, but they are being thrust upon people as the only rational means for preserving the health of mankind. "The-doctor-knows-best" thought is so apprehensive of its future welfare in the hands of a progressive people that it is seeking national legislation in its effort to hold the health of the nation within the jurisdiction of matter. Fortunately, however, for the human race, a mighty wave of righteous protest against unjust legislation is sweeping over our country, so that the voice of the people is bound to be heard and felt. The inevitable outcome will again prove that the human mind cannot usurp the divine sovereignty. It can never solve the problem of health for the human race until it knows and can demonstrate what health is. This demonstration cannot take place until Christ, Truth, enters human consciousness and points the way to the spiritual kingdom on earth.

For centuries the wisdom of this world has sought in vain to find health and happiness in matter. What has been the outcome? A veritable tower of Babel, or confusion, has been reared upon the quicksands of human reason, from whose height not even a glimpse of the promised land has been obtainable. Through Christian Science the healing Christ-idea has again appeared in the world, and humanity is being shown the way out of the darkness of materiality into the light of spiritual existence, teeming with health, holiness, purity, strength, and happiness. The Science of real being eliminates matter and reveals and demonstrates the spirituality of health and happiness. Because of this demonstration unnumbered thousands are turning voluntarily from the god of medicine to the living God "who healeth all thy diseases" and "who forgiveth all thine iniquities." In holy and enlightened thought they are turning to omnipotent Love for guidance, and their prayers are being answered in improved moral and physical conditions. The practical availability of divine power to correct the wrong thinking that accompanies both sin and sickness has been so thoroughly tested that the onward march of Truth is an assured reality. The crisis has passed, and all mankind are bidden to step forth into the mental arena where cause and effect are seen to be spiritual and not material.
