It is with a grateful heart that I try to tell what Christian Science has done for me. In February, 1908, I became ill and consulted a physician, who informed me that I had a kidney disease and that I must submit to an operation. I went to a hospital in April and was operated upon, and after remaining there four weeks left in a greatly weakened condition. After I came home I gradually grew worse; and although I was treated by the leading physicians of the city. I did not seem to improve. I had two consultations of doctors, the last one in July, when they stated that my whole system was tubercular and that I had only a few days longer to live.

My parents were then advised to try Christian Science, although they knew nothing about it at that time. They called for a Christian Science practitioner, who came to the house one evening and gave me a treatment. As a result, sleep, which I had not known for many weeks, returned. I had many problems to meet, one of them being a stomach trouble, on account of which I was unable to retain nourishment of any kind, and was greatly wasted; but every mortal law was finally broken. My recovery was not rapid, as it took more than a year to restore fully my health, but I am glad that it was so, as I have thus gained a clearer understanding of the truth. I feel I have reason to be very grateful to God for the many blessings I have received in Christian Science, and I am thankful to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for giving us this truth.
