During the winter of 1899 a lady gave my sister several copies of the Journal. She had curvature of the spine, and the lady hoped Christian Science would help her, as nothing else had brought her any hope of being better. It was the first time I had heard of Christian Science, and I was very much interested in it, so the lady lent me a copy of Science and Health. I found it to be pure and good teaching, regenerating and uplifting. I felt at once that it was the truth, and I was determined to look more into it. I did so, and became more and more convinced that I was seeking aright. Before I had studied the book a month I was healed of three ills, the fear of death, of poverty, and of disease. I had for many years been nursing in materia medica, and felt that the suffering which I saw would some day be mine. The following spring I joined First Church of Christ, Scientist, in London. I gave up the nursing under materia medica and for five years nursed cases for Christian Science practitioners who were giving treatment to patients, and many were the opportunities I had of proving the power of Truth as taught in Science and Health. I cannot express how thankful I used to be to see patients lifted out of sin, sorrow, and suffering!

My sister went to a spinal hospital in London, and they applied the X-rays and said there was both curvature and caries of the spine. She was, however, healed in Christian Science, and is now quite well and strong. That Christian Science is the religion taught by Christ Jesus I have not a shadow of doubt. It is in grateful acknowledgment of Truth that I write this testimony.
