Passaic (N. J.) News

Archbishop Jenvey admits there is a wide difference between saying, "Thy sins be forgiven thee," and "Take up thy bed and walk." He remarks, "It is easy for God to say both, but it is hard for the ministry to say either." Jesus proved to the Pharisees that they might know that the Son of God hath power on earth to forgive sin. He said to the sick of the palsy, "Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house." Christ Jesus instructed his followers, saying plainly, "The works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do."

Christian Science claims the command of Jesus and the word of God to be just as effective today as it was in the time of Christ. We cannot conceive of any time limit being set upon the power of God to heal the sick. It is upon this basis that Christian Scientists claim the healing power is present today, and have proved this premise in the healing of thousands of so-called organic and functional diseases. It is not claimed that the healing power of Christian Science resides in or emanates from the practitioner. It is the action of Principle that heals.

All that Christian Science asks is to be judged by its fruits as a whole. There is plenty of evidence to show that Christian Science is doing a great deal of good in the world today, regardless of the false concepts which are sometimes entertained regarding this Science.
