I wish to express my deep gratitude to God for all the blessings that have come to me through Christian Science,—the spiritual uplifting, joy, and happiness. When first I heard of it, I was in a state of despair; I had just realized that materia medica could do nothing for me; in fact, I" seemed to be getting worse. I gave every method a good trial, as I believed then that medicine could heal me, and I had previously been through a hospital training.

For about three years I had been under doctors and specialists for heart trouble, sleeplessness, stomach and bowel disorders, and other ills. I had headaches which were very painful, and was told by an oculist these were caused by the condition of my eyes and that I should wear glasses continually. I could only walk very short distances, and often for days I had to keep in bed. A heart specialist put me into a nursing-home for treatment for seven weeks, but nothing seemed to help me, although I received the greatest kindness always from the medical profession.

When I was first told of Christian Science and what it could do, I knew it was going to help me, and I prayed that I might realize something of this great truth. I found a practitioner who was most kind, and after the first treatment I left off my glasses, walked miles without fatigue, and ate anything, though I had been doomed to the strictest diet till the end of my days. I felt so happy and well and experienced such peace in realizing God's allness! I have had perfect health ever since. I had been told never to ride my bicycle again, but now I think nothing of riding forty miles. I feel truly grateful to our Leader for all she has done in pointing out this great truth for us. I pray that I may show my gratitude to God for Christian Science, and to her, by trying each day to become a better Scientist, to be a purer channel for the truth which heals.
