With sincere thankfulness to God for all the blessings...

With sincere thankfulness to God for all the blessings bestowed upon me, and for guiding me to Christian Science, this new yet very old view of life eternal, I send my testimony to the Field. I was led to investigate Christian Science by a dear friend. Curiosity first took me to a Wednesday evening meeting with her, but after I had borrowed Science and Health from the reading-room at First Church, London, and read it almost through, I found that I wanted to know more about it; so I attended a little service held in this town. I also read other Christian Science literature and asked a great many questions, which were very kindly answered by a dear Science friend, who told me all I could at that time grasp.

Soon after this I had my usual winter cold, and after wrestling with it myself for a week, I went to my friend, who was a practitioner, and after a week's treatment was freed not only of the cold, but also of catarrh which had for over six years always been the accompaniment of a cold, however slight. Any one who has suffered from this disease will understand how delighted I was to be freed from it. This was three years ago, and I have had no return of it, and even if I get a cold it soon disappears. Headaches to which I had been subject nearly all my life, not being able to go anywhere on either business or pleasure without suffering severely, have practically gone.

I could tell of numerous other ways in which I have been helped. I was troubled with an enlarged sinew on my wrist, which our doctor told me must be operated upon or I would always have it; but it went during the study of Christian Science. The freedom which Truth gives is delightful, but above all the spiritual uplifting is the greatest, and we cannot too highly appreciate Mrs. Eddy in view of all she so courageously passed through to help her fellow-men to walk in the way our Saviour pointed out, thus continuing the work our Master commanded to be done in his name.—Ada Hiscox, Putney, London, England.
