About two and a half years ago my general health began to run down. My eyes in particular troubled me very much, and as I was very fond of reading it was a great trial to me to not be able to use them as I wished; but by having some one read my lessons to me, I managed to keep on in school for the rest of the term. Just about this time my oldest sister was healed in Christian Science of a severe eye trouble, after having tried glasses and other things. All the next summer I was worried because I could not go on with my studies and graduate with my class, but when school began I started in, thinking I would do the best that I could. I went part of the day until after Christmas, but as my health became worse I stopped altogether. I had some treatment in Christian Science, but I did not get relief at once, and so I tried medicine again. I was getting thinner and weaker every day, and few people thought that I would ever recover. One doctor told me to stay in the fresh air as much as possible and eat all I could, but the bright light outdoors hurt my eyes so that I had to keep a dark cloth over them most of the time. Besides this, everything that I ate caused me to suffer. Another doctor thought a change of climate might be helpful.

When I had decided that there was no material help I was willing to give up medicine and leave all to God. My sister wrote for absent treatment, and I was completely healed in two weeks. I was able then to realize clearly what is meant by the statement, "Man's extremity is God's opportunity." I regained flesh and strength very rapidly, and have gained wonderfully in every respect. Many friends say that my healing is a miracle.

I have found in Christian Science that the word of Truth is a constant companion and a savior from all evil. It is not surprising that I feel very grateful for Christian Science, when three out of our family have been healed of serious ailments by it.
