"NOW IS THE ACCEPTED TIME"

There are events here of a certainty
   Grander than men's frail thinking can assess:
The bud that blossoms for all men to see
   Must first unfold within one's consciousness;
The robin's declaration of domain
   Falls idly on the undiscerning ear—
Mind, with its aural purity, must reign
   Supreme in stillness, ere men learn to hear.

This is the season, then, for looking higher
   Than flowered bough, for listening close and deep
Within the heart. Oh, you who thus aspire
   To divine certainties, how you shall reap
The fullness of Truth's springtide, ever blowing.
Though May be withered and October going!
