Christian Science is indeed the Comforter promised us by our Master, Christ Jesus. I have been so helped and blessed by the testimonies in our periodicals that I feel I must express my gratitude for all the good brought into my life by Mary Baker Eddy's revelation of Christian Science.

I am grateful for the harmony it has brought into my home, for protection for myself and dear ones during the Second World War, for many healings in my family, and especially for an outstanding healing of deafness. This healing, which was instantaneous, occurred while I was knowing the truth as I went about my work of preparing a meal. I heard a sudden hissing noise and turned round to find it was the gas turned on rather high under a saucepan. Then I heard the tap dripping and a clock striking in another room. Suddenly, with the deepest gratitude and joy, I heard the birds singing and the sound of children's laughter.

I have also been healed of lumbago, which used to attack me frequently over a period of years. Most of all I am grateful for the understanding of the Scriptures which I have gained from the study of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. Her scientific interpretation of the twenty-third Psalm (ibid., p. 578) is to me most beautiful and enlightening, and the lovely chapter on Prayer brings help and healing always.
