"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it" (Mal. 3:10). I wish to bring my tithe of gratitude into the storehouse of God's affluence.

Christian Science was presented to me when I was greatly distraught and in the midst of a discordant and unhappy situation in human relationships. From the very first hours of conversation with a practitioner I began to feel a lifting of the burden. She gently explained to me something of God's great love and of my relationship to Him as His loved child. I realized immediately that I had found something of practical help and began the study of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Though understanding but little of this textbook at first, I could not let it go. I had many lessons to learn, but I finally arrived at a state of happiness and serenity. I learned to pray to God with sincerity and humility in the words of Jesus (Luke 22:42), "Not my will, but thine, be done."

My first physical healing, which was of a serious stomach ailment, was accomplished solely by reading the textbook. I had been put on a milk diet by a reputable physician and given some tablets. Soon after Christian Science was presented to me I determined to give its healing power a practical trial; so I threw out the tablets and resumed my normal diet. When troubled by pain, I would turn to the textbook. Gradually the attacks lessened, and one day I realized I was free.

I am grateful for many other healings, such as those of colds, coughs, and warts on my hand. Some of these healings came through my own work and some with the help of a practitioner. Resentment has also been overcome. I am especially grateful for a quick healing of incipient arthritis, which was manifested in a swollen and very painful finger when I awoke one morning. As my work involves a great deal of typing, my first thought was one of fear that my fingers would become crippled and I would be unable to continue my work. This fear was overcome to some extent, as I applied the truths of Christian Science and read the Lesson-Sermon for that week in the Christian Science Quarterly.

However, at the office the finger was very painful and caused many errors in my work. I was tempted to speak of the condition as an excuse for the errors. Then I thought: "No. No one shall know of this but God and me." And then came the thought, "But that is ridiculous; God knows nothing of error of any kind, as the sun knows nothing of darkness." That left nothing to the condition but my own belief in it, and I realized the nothingness of it. After further study that evening I retired with the realization that God was in full and unobstructed control of me and that all inharmony must keep silence before Him. In the morning the arthritis had vanished, and it has never returned.

I am truly grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, for class instruction, and for every opportunity I have of helping others and of serving the Cause of Christian Science.—(Mrs.) Agnes M. Burress, Tampa, Florida.
