Our Spiritual Unity with God

Knowledge of the precise nature of God and man, and of the fact that man coexists with God in perfect unity, is fundamental to the teaching of Christian Science.

In their ignorance of these teachings many people continue to believe that the universe is material, and that man consists of a material body with physical senses and a human intellect. This belief of conviction they may have obtained from the Biblical account of a material creation as recorded in the second chapter of Genesis; and they have accepted it the more easily since it seems to be supported by the testimony of the physical senses.

But Christian Science declares that the Adam-man, supposedly formed from the dust of the ground, is not the real man, but a counterfeit, whose origin and substance are the antipodes of God, Spirit.
