At the worst time of the world depression, when values were at their lowest, I discovered that I owed a large amount of money. I had not the funds with which to pay this debt, except by selling out securities. I struggled with the problem for weeks. The subtlest argument of mortal mind was that I should postpone the matter until business recovered. One day, as I was driving alone in my car, the arguments for and against disclosure were revolving in my mind, when our Leader's words (Poems, p. 79) came clearly to me:

"It matters not what be thy lot,
So Love doth guide;"
