Recently, in a public address in North Long Beach, a speaker described the fantastic Winchester house in San Jose, California, and mistakenly associated with it the name of Mary Baker Eddy.

I shall appreciate your courtesy if you will permit me to say to the people of North Long Beach through the Argus, that Mrs. Eddy was never in California, and therefore could not have been a visitor in that house; and there is no evidence that she knew Mrs. Winchester, the owner of the house.

Mrs. Eddy was not a believer in spiritualism, mediums, or ghosts. She had an exalted faith in God—a faith that was based on the understanding of His omnipotence and omnipresence. Her understanding enabled her to heal sickness and sin by the spiritually mental method that Jesus used, and to teach others to accomplish the same healing works by the same method.
