Christian Science was first presented to me by a lady whom I met at a summer hotel, who, seeing my need, told me something of its truths, and of healings in her own family. The one thing that I remembered was that she said, "God's child cannot be sick." This I thought rather strange, as I believed I was God's child, and was very sure at that time that I was quite sick, being on a very strict diet for stomach trouble, which several specialists had failed to cure.

The seed was sown, however, and on returning home I borrowed a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy from the lending library, and afterwards bought a copy. Knowing nothing at this time about practitioners, and not gaining much understanding from my own reading, I laid the book aside. Some time later I was invited to attend a Wednesday evening testimony meeting in a Christian Science church. This I did, and was so convinced of its truths that I have never ceased attending.

Slowly but surely the stomach trouble ceased, as I realized what it means to be a child of God, and for many years now I have been able to eat anything I desire.
