In Psalms we read: "The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them." Christian Science is the truth, and we can call upon it, and it saves and heals us. Such has been my experience.

This Science saved my life after I had been an invalid for eleven years. During that time I had several doctors and specialists. All they did for me was to give me morphia, which relieved my suffering for a little while, but left me feeling worse afterwards. I had been living on two meals a day for many years and on only one meal a day for more than a year. I was taking opiates four times a day. I was entirely without hope and had to face the end in my thought. I did not want to die. I had heard of Christian Science, but my father was a doctor and I got the idea that it was some kind of quackery and was prejudiced against it. However, "Man's extremity is God's opportunity." When I knew all other help was powerless I sent for a Christian Science practitioner, and during the first visit I knew that I was healed. By the end of the week I was entirely free from the use of morphia and opiates and was taking a little food. In a very short while I was back to normal meals.

Since that time, over three years ago, I have continued improving and gaining strength, and it is a wonderful joy to be active and feel the newness of life and strength I now have after all those years of invalidism.
