Growth

Lord, make me glad for little things,
Those things which every day appear.
Small incidents of sight and sound,
If loving gratitude abound,
Become more consecrated—dear.

Lord, help me see that little ways
Of serving Thee are truly blest;
No carking care can cramp my praise,
Nor lurking failure scar my days,
When in omnipotence I rest.

With grateful patience I shall seek
And find contentment, growth, and grace;
My pathway set in footsteps meek
To strengthen, cheer, support the weak,
And onward speed the human race.

Lord, make my giving confident,
A little here, a little there;
For well we know when much is meant,
When in Thy name our tithes are spent,
We richest benedictions share.
