When I came to Christian Science I was very ill, physically and mentally; I had just passed through many tribulations. In February, 1926, I suffered from cerebral congestion, which it was believed to be impossible to heal. This illness developed into neurasthenia; and failing memory made me feel as if I were going to lose my reason, and life became a burden to me. At a time when I was very much cast down, one of my relatives gave me several copies of Le Heraut de Christian Science, and I read them, finding them very beautiful. A few days afterward I attended a Christian Science service. The Lesson-Sermon which was read was balm to my heart; and the first three verses of I John, third chapter, were especially helpful.

It was with hope that I went to see a practitoiner the following day. This lady welcomed me with the greatest kindness, and in a very short time I was completely healed and experienced no further suffering. I was transformed, and sadness gave way to gladness. I cannot express in words the gratitude I feel to God, and also to the kind practitioner who helped me.

I want to tell how in addition to this healing I was healed of illness which had caused me suffering for twenty-six years. When I was thus attacked I could not move without increasing the pain, and this used to last two and sometimes three days. I had consulted many physicians, specialists, a surgeon, and one specialist for incurable diseases. The latter had told my husband that perhaps he could heal me; but that it would take a very long time. He obtained, however, no result. For years I was resigned to suffering, fearfully anticipating each attack.
