Among the Churches

Current Notes

Toronto, Canada (Fourth Church).—Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist, Toronto, held its opening services recently in the new church, 245 Beech Avenue. The seating accommodation was taxed to the limit both morning and evening. The building, which was previously owned and occupied by the Beech Avenue United Church, has been remodeled to meet the requirements of a Christian Science organization. The most modern methods of building and equipment have been included in the plans for alterations. The building, architecturally following the lines of Spanish renaissance, is of red brick trimmed with stone, and stands well back from the street on a lot one hundred and fifty by one hundred feet, and is surrounded by a beautiful lawn. The main auditorium, with a seating capacity of three hundred and fifty, is finished in ornamental plaster, tastefully decorated in an amber and sun effect.—The Globe.

Soquel, California (Society).—The Christian Science church was dedicated a week ago with appropriate exercises at both a morning and evening service. The pretty little church located on Porter Avenue is a decided asset to Soquel, and those instrumental in its erection are to be congratulated upon its completion.—Santa Cruz Morning Sentinel.
