Christian Science does not teach the power of the human mind over matter, as was inferred by a revivalist in the columns of your paper in a recent issue. It does teach the power of the divine Mind, Spirit, or God,, over matter, but that is a very different thing. Consider for a moment the healing by Jesus of the man born blind. We have every reason to believe that his material eyes were like those of other blind persons, and yet, immediately the material evidence was corrected, normal eyes and perfect vision resulted. Note that matter was instantly changed. Not so-called human mind, or human will, but the power of God, divine Mind, alone could produce such an effect. None other than this same divine Mind heals in Christian Science.
