Christian Science has transformed my life from one of...
Christian Science has transformed my life from one of discouragement, disappointment, and disease to one of health, happiness, and continual hopefulness. In our home the demonstrations of the efficacy and healing power of Christian Science have been many and varied. Peritonitis, paralysis, rheumatism, influenza, and many other ailments, including sprained ankles and severe burns, have yielded to its influence. Discouragement, false pride, envy, a bad temper, great sensitiveness, and human will have given place to a higher sense of love, peace, and selflessness.
In Jeremiah we read, "Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." After yielding one's thought in complete submission to the divine will, one finds an ever conscious recognition of the divine presence and an increasing hope of the fulfillment of God's law—the law of health, harmony, peace, and good will. It has also been proved in my experience that material heredity is not a law; for man is God's reflection, and therefore God is his Father-Mother, and his inheritance is health, freedom, and joy unbounded. To those who are bowed down with sickness, unhappiness, discouragement, lack, or discord of any kind let me say: Take heart, dear suffering ones, for through these trials we learn God's loving, tender care for His children, and the day will arrive when we shall rejoice, as did Paul, in tribulations, assured of the fulfillment of the promise of salvation.
I am continuously grateful for these experiences, to all those who have so patiently helped me through the troubled waters and lifted me above the waves into the understanding of a higher joy, and to Mary Baker Eddy for giving to the world the Christ, Truth, in such a form that all may understand.—(Mrs.) Clare G. Lovell, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
