The Enthronement of Mind
"Perfect and infinite Mind enthroned is heaven." Thus writes Mrs. Eddy on page 266 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and it may be said that herein our Leader has epitomized the possibility of complete salvation for all mankind. To obtain heaven is certainly to be freed from all the claims of evil, and therefore to be saved from all that is unlike good. There are probably few mortals who have not hoped sometime to reach heaven, and creeds without number have been formulated to help men to attain this goal. In spite of such effort, there has apparently been much uncertainty in the thought of mortals as to whether or not they would ever win their objective.
When there was revealed to our beloved Leader the tremendous truth that "God is Mind, and God is infinite; hence all is Mind" (ibid., p. 492), the world received that knowledge which, when accepted, will fulfill Jesus' statement, "Behold the kingdom of God is within you." To understand that God is omnipresent Mind, governing and controlling harmoniously His infinite creation, is to admit infinite, ever present heaven. Where God is, heaven must be. This truth must, however, be demonstrated before men can realize its all-pervading bliss. To this end Mrs. Eddy opens the way when she tells us that heaven can only be won as perfect and infinite Mind is enthroned.
All men must therefore become acquainted with that Mind which is God, and they must also learn to enthrone it in their individual thinking and doing. Christian Science makes this possible and starts the student out upon a quest every step of which must be attended with the unfoldment of good. To begin to contemplate God as omnipresent, adorable Mind is to open one's thought to that which alone is worthy of enthronement, since no wise thinker would be deceived into lifting on high aught unworthy of adulation.
