I could not begin to enumerate all the blessings we have...
I could not begin to enumerate all the blessings we have received through the study of Christian Science, or express our gratitude for such a beautiful and practical religion. I was but a small child when the family became interested in Christian Science, and know that my comparative freedom from physical problems has been due to the protective power of the truth. Many faults of disposition are giving way to the understanding of the attributes the real man expresses; and I am deeply thankful. One of the hardest lessons I had to learn was to trust God with all my affairs, thus eliminating worry from my consciousness. At last, through many demonstrations along this line, I have realized that the only source of supply is God, and that, as James says, "every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning;" also, Mrs. Eddy's statement (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 307), "God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies," has been of the greatest help in overcoming fear concerning supply.
Recently I had great cause for rejoicing in the healing of a disease which presented itself and seemed to grow worse, even though I tried to overcome it by Christianly metaphysical work. Finally I asked help of a practitioner. In less than an hour many symptoms had disappeared, and by the next morning they were completely destroyed. Truly I learned from this experience that, as the writer to the Hebrews says, "the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword."
My gratitude to Mary Baker Eddy as our Leader increases at each reading of Sibyl Wilbur's account of her life. Such spirituality and consecration to God's work as Mrs. Eddy expressed has been a great incentive for me to do more daily to be worthy of the name of "Christian Scientist." I am very grateful for all that Christian Science has done for me and mine, and for all it is doing for the world; for membership in The Mother Church and branch church; for class instruction; for the privilege of teaching in the Sunday school; and for every other activity of the Christian Science organization.
