Our Father's Knowing!

The statement of Jesus, "Your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him," is often quoted as though God knew that man lacked something. But the Bible tells us that God is "of purer eyes than to behold evil."

If God knew evil or of evil, then evil would be real. Because God is infinite good, all that God knows must be, and is, real and good like Himself. A more careful study of the text just quoted is therefore necessary; and this study will show that what God does know is not the needs or seeming lack of mankind, but the good which is needed by men. Jesus said, "Your Father knoweth what things ye have need of." God knows all that is real. Man needs love, truth, life—needs all that God knows; and because of His knowing, God of necessity supplies all man's needs.

God knows love; and He is forever giving love. The very nature of God, divine Love, necessitates activity, meeting all needs. Is the need health? God knows health; and He is forever supplying it. Is the need substance? Again, God knows all substance; hence He supplies this needed quality to man. Is the need happiness? God knows joy, true joy; and He is constantly radiating this joy through His ideas. But God does not know of the belief in evil; and divine thoughts reflected heal this false belief.
