I recall a time when I was told to rejoice

I recall a time when I was told to rejoice. Many winters I had been subject to an attack of tonsillitis followed with bronchitis. After a Christian Science treatment had been given, the practitioner gave me a card on which was the word "Rejoice." Without giving much thought to the card, I placed it on the wall in my bedroom. About midnight I was awakened with intense pain in the throat. At once the truth was declared, but without relief. The card with the word "Rejoice" was seen. Self-pity said, How can you rejoice when suffering as you are? The "still small voice" of Truth said: Rejoice because you know that this evil is not true; God knows nothing about it. The healing was instantaneous.

That was in 1916. There has been no return. When we recognize what we really are in Truth, we can always rejoice.
