For the past ten years I have been the recipient from God of blessings without number through Christian Science, and I desire to bear witness to the truth that Christian Science heals.

The blessings of growing to manhood under Christian influences were mine. At an early age I was admitted to membership in an orthodox church, and I believed I was satisfied with my religion. My early life had been spent in the business of my father, a pharmacist, and I had been an earnest student of medical practice. This, together with my religious training, had biased my thought to the extent that I was very antagonistic toward what in my ignorance I believed Christian Science to be.

Ill health in the form of stomach, bowel, and catarrhal troubles preceded a nervous breakdown which incapacitated me for work of any kind. This was followed by throat, bronchial, and lung troubles which caused me to leave the seashore, where I was residing, and go inland to a higher climate. While there a relative who had been healed through Christian Science endeavored to speak to me of it; but I refused to listen. After a year of effort to regain my health, during which time several months were spent in out-of-door life, a severe case of pneumonia developed, following which I spent a winter in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.
