Among the Churches

Current Notes

National City, Calif. (Society).—The Christian Science Society of National City has built a lovely little bungalow church edifice at Tenth Street and D Avenue. The builiding fund was created by free-will love offerings only. Simplicity and color-harmony characterize the place, which no doubt will be much enjoyed by members and friends of the church.—National City News.

Kirkwood, Mo. (First Church).—Plans of a church are being prepared by architects for First Church of Christ, Scientist, Kirkwood, to be erected at Clay and Washington Avenues. The church will follow the lines of Italian renaissance, with stone trimmings, and walls of stucco. THe roof will of red variegated tile. Steel window frames will be used throughout. The auditorium will seat four hundred, and there will be extra seating space for an additional hundred. The width of the auditorium, fifty feet, will be spanned by steel trusses, encased in wood. The side aisles will be separated from the main room by an arcade. The building will have an ideal location on a fine lot surrounded by big maples, and will be set back seventy-five feet from the street.
